Why This Domestic Violence Specialist Training Is Different

This NAMA-authorized Domestic Violence Specialist training provides a comprehensive, evidence-based framework for professionals working with domestic violence offenders and survivors. Unlike general awareness courses, this program focuses on a Cognitive-Behavioral (CBT) approach designed to support long-term behavioral change, emotional regulation, accountability, and safer relationship dynamics.

This training fulfills all requirements for Certified Domestic Violence Specialist-I (CDVS-I) Certification through the National Anger Management Association (NAMA). Note: Training tuition does not include the NAMA application fee for the CDVS-I credential.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Is the CDVS Training Court-Approved?

The CDVS credential is a high-level, nationally recognized certification that meets NAMA standards. While it is widely accepted by many courts and parole departments, each state has its own statutory requirements. For example, some states, including California and Texas, may require specific hourly mandates for certain court-related roles. We recommend checking your local jurisdictional requirements.

2. How does this help with state credentialing agencies?

The CDVS is a respected credential used by professionals to demonstrate the specialized competency often required by state agencies. It is widely recognized as a primary qualification for those seeking to facilitate court-ordered, probation, and parole classes.

3. What is the difference between CDVS-I and CDVS-II?

CDVS-I is the foundational certification for Domestic Violence Education. CDVS-II is a higher designation requiring additional experience. This training provides the 12 contact hours and supervision required to apply for the CDVS-I designation.

4. Will I receive Continuing Education Units (CEUs)?

Yes. This training provides 12 NAMA Contact Hours eligible for CEUs.

5. Are the training materials included in the tuition?

Yes. Your tuition includes digital access to the Domestic Violence Offender Treatment Curriculum (Leader Manual), presentation slides, and the full Administrative Toolkit of fillable forms.

6. What are the additional NAMA certification fees?

After the training, you will apply to NAMA for your official credential. The application fee is $125 for CDVS-I, and this fee is paid directly to NAMA. It is not included in the tuition.
