Growth Central Training offers this 2-day training using the Crisis Intervention Workbook and Curriculum: The EDGE Approach to De-escalation (ISBN: 978-1-893505-81-0). Completion of the EDGE Approach to De-escalation training allows each learner to apply to NAMA for th CCIS-II credential. CCIS-II is meant for professionals who have experience working in the field of crisis intervention and management, behavioral health, schools, jails, hospitals, security, peer support, management, foster care, child and family services, hospitality, etc. A CCIS-II will develop advanced competencies in relationship building under pressure of time along with advanced verbal de-escalation skills. This level requires a full day of scenario intensives. A BS or two years profession work in the field required. Peer support welcome. 12 hours coursework.

INSTRUCTORS
Laura Beth Moss, CCIS V, CAMS V, is a nationally sought author, teacher, Supervisor and Diplomat for the National Anger Management Association (NAMA). She is the Founder of Growth Central Training and the Co-Director of Growth Central, teaching and training therapists, social workers, and counselors to work with court-mandated anger management clients. Laura is also a Certified Integrative Life Coach through the International Association of Counselors and Therapists. She specializes in self-care, wellness and helping others to navigate their personal narratives to integrate and explore complex, emotional states. More recently, she developed and co-authored the Crisis Intervention Workbook and Curriculum: The EDGE Approach to De-escalation and The Certified Parent Training Curriculum. Laura has been featured as an expert on the Dr. Drew Show, in the NY Post, Kiwanus Magazine, Stylecaster, NBC, and has presented work at The National Press Club in Washington, DC, CIT International, NW Region CIT Conference, and several NAMA Conferences.
Michael Nolan, CCIS-III, CAMS II, is a Forensic Addiction Counselor and street medic specializing in co-occurring substance use and mental health issues among the chronically homeless and incarcerated. He brings more than two decades of experience with crisis intervention and de-escalation in major metropolitan cities including New York City and Atlanta.
The EDGE Approach to De-escalation is a NAMA authorized curriculum which leads to the NAMA CCIS I & II credential. This training is taught by curriculum developer Laura Beth Moss, CCIS-V and a team of CCIS-III & IV who are working in the field of crisis intervention and behavioral health.
